Disclaimer: I haven’t actually tried to cook any of these items. But they sound and look tasty.
Let’s start off with some traditional Mexican food. Then let’s add some Tacos De Carnitas. Yum.
Summer is almost here and that means plenty of opportunity for cookouts, picnics, and potlucks. Sounds like a place for Balsamic Cole Slaw!
Ever wonder how to make your own yogurt? Wonder no more.
Save this one for Fall: Italian Hot Chocolate.
I know the last couple posts have been a bit dry. Fresh stuff over the weekend.
You must admire that nameless brave soul who courageously tasted spoiled milk and proclaimed: “Yogurt!”
(I didn’t know they had microwaves back then… )
Chile Verde:
Clean, chop and cook, in a large pot, until unrecognizeable and liquid is reduced: 10 large green peppers.
Cube and trim (but not too much) a cheap pork shoulder roast or other inexpensive cut. brown quickly. Toss in with the peppers.
chop and onion and throw in some garlic (you can precook the onion or not; I usually do)
one diced potato (thickener)
should you like some heat dice up a habenero or three, or jalapenos.
SandP. Simmer for a while. Freexes great. By the peppers when on sale and cook them down and freeze. Then you can make it when the pork goes on sale.
This isn’t a “wow” kind of dish. It is like Mexican “potroast.” Comfort food, yeah?
